My 3 Favorite Foods To Fight Breast Cancer

Apologies in advance to any of you trying to stick to New Year’s Resolution that may eliminate some of the “bad things” I’m about to mention…don’t say I didn’t warn you!

I’ve got to say, I love to read any reports and studies that support my addictions -ahem, I mean affection for three “food” groups that may help prevent breast cancer.

Can Acai Berry Really Help Prevent Breast Cancer?

If you haven’t yet heard of the Acai Berry (pronounced Ah-Sa-E) health craze, you surely are living under a rock. Sold as dietary supplement, a new kind of “super-fruit” and healthy antioxidant, the Acai Berry is now available in a multitude of forms – everything from pills, to juices, energy drinks & smoothie mixes, body detox cleanses, gummy candies to herbal teas – all made of natural extracts from the “Acai Palm”.

Since her very public battle with breast cancer last year, and radical (and controversial) decision* to undergo a double mastectomy, Christina Applegate became the latest celebrity to become a spokesperson for the disease, and help raise awareness and research funds through a number of charitable organizations.In 2009, Christina Applegate became the official ambassador for Lee National Denim Day, which takes place on Friday October 2, 2009. Not sure why I hadn’t thought of sharing this info before, but on iTunes, you can download tons of FREE podcasts which cover a variety of topics related to Breast Cancer, such as breast self-exams, mammogram and mastectomy information, in addition to clinical updates from a variety of medical schools and cancer research centers. Next time you’re buying your favorite music, remember to look for educational podcasts and inspirational pieces for those battling breast cancer.
